EFFECT OF CRYSTAL ICE STRUCTURE ON THE FORMATION AND VARIABILITY OF VERTICAL SALINITY DISTRIBUTION IN ONE-YEAR ICE

N. A. Lyalyagin and K. P. Tyshko

Some specific features of vertical salinity distribution in one-year ice in the Barents and Kara seas according to its crystal structure are considered that under identical freezing conditions, the salinity of fibrous. The laboratory and field studies show congelation ice is usually 0.5—3.0% higher than that of slush ice of granular isometric structure, which affects substantially variability of vertical salinity distribution in the ice cover during its formation.
