VERTICAL TRANSFER OF CONSERVATIVE ADMIXTURE IN A NONSTATIONARY CONVECTIVE BOUNDARY LAYER OF THE ATMOSPHERE

L. I. Alekseeva and N. F. Veltishchev

Results of calculation of the vertical flux of a conservative admixture in a nonstationary convective boundary layer are presented. It is found that convective fluxes are determined only by the Rayleigh number and do not depend either on the height and the rate of heating (cooling) of the convective layer or on the rate of change of background admixture concentration. The depth of convective pen¬etration of positive admixture fluxes into a region where these fluxes are negative is determined only by nonstationarity of the background admixture field and is independent on details of temperature distribution within a convective layer.
