ESTIMATION OF HIGH WIND VELOCITY BY SPECTRAL CHARACTERISTICS

The method of estimation of extreme wind velocities (possible once in a given number of years), its direction and duration is dealt with. The calculations are made for the Caspian Sea. The results are compared with the observation data and similar estimates obtained with conventional methods.
