Vertical and horizontal distributions of the index of light extinction and their variability in the summer of 1988 in coastal waters adjacent to the recreation and reserve zones between the capes of Meganom and Kiik-Atlama are under consideration. The most turbid waters characterized by a significant time variability in absolute magnitudes and vertical distribution of the index of light extinction were observed in the Koktebel Bight. It is shown that the dynamics of coastal waters exerts its influence on the formation of the transparency field.
