HARMONIC TIDAL ANALYSIS FOR THE NODAL 18.61-YEAR PERIOD WITH AMDERMA SETTLEMENT TAKEN AS AN EXAMPLE

G. N. Voinov

Harmonic tidal analysis is performed for Amderma (the Kara Sea) from observations for the 18.61-year period using the least-squares method. It is found that in the diurnal and semidiurnal tide classes the relations for the major satellites of waves of the second term of the potential are close to theoretical relations calculated from the potential theory. It is found, however, that in the clusters of the wave components 2Q1, σ1, Q1, <$Erho sub 1>, O1, M1, K1, and J1, the observed relations for satellites of the third potential term are different from those derived from potential theory. A strictly harmonic tide precalculation without nodal corrections is shown to have an obvious advantage over a standard (quasi-harmonic) calculation method.
