GEOINFORMATION MAPPING OF ANNUAL PRECIPITATION IN GEORGIA'S MOUNTAIN AREAS

A method of geoinformation mapping of atmospheric precipitation in mountain areas of Georgia is developed, and detailed maps of annual precipitation are constructed. Mountain conditions substantially affect the meteorological regime, particularly the distribution of precipitation, having a complicated spatial and temporal structure. Therefore, despite numerous investigations of distributions of precipitation in mountains (see, for example, those for the Caucasus [1, 2, 4, 5, 7—10], etc.), there is as yet no common justified method for objective mapping of precipitation.
