PARAMETERS OF RADIOCESIUM SORPTION BY BOTTOM SEDIMENTS OF LAKES KOZHANOVSKOE AND SVYATOE IN THE BRYANSK REGION OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Results of field and laboratory studies of 137Cs changes in bottom sediments of lakes Kozhanovskoe and Svyatoe in the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation are dealt with. The relationship between depth and bottom sediment characteristics that determine radiocesium sorption and variations in time is studied. It is shown that in predicting the long-term 137Cs dynamics in closed and poorly drained lakes, one should take into account the increase in the effective diffusion coefficient with depth.
