STUDY OF MICROPHYSICAL STRUCTURE OF COLD CLOUDS OVER SYRIA IN MARCH—APRIL 1991

G. P. Beryulev, B. G. Danelyan, and A. N. Nevzorov

Aircraft investigations of cold cloud microphysics over Syria have been performed within the framework of pilot and production operations on precipitation enhancement. Measurements of cloud microstructure characteristics were carried out using a complex of modern aircraft instruments. The emphasis is on the cloud phase composition and liquid water content. An important applied result, the persistence of a liquid disperse phase in ice clouds, agrees with observations in other geographical areas.
