TYPHOONS AS AN ACTIVE COMPONENT OF REGIONAL CLIMATE

Connection between statistical characteristics of a typhoon and the climatic field of sea surface temperature (SST) is considered. From suggestion of stable correlation between SST and the typhoon origination areas, qualitative estimates of changes in the main climatic characteristics in the regions affected by typhoons are obtained. Scenarios of climate warming and cooling are considered.
