A. M. Zvyagintsev, N. S. Ivanova, G. M. Krutchenitskii, I. Yu. Shalygina, and V. I. Demin

The review is compiled based on the results of the operation of the Total Ozone (TO) Monitoring System in the CIS and Baltic countries functioning at the Central Aerological Observatory (CAO) in the operational regime. The system uses data from the national network of filter ozonometers, type M-124, operating under the guidance of the Main Geophysical Observatory (MGO). The quality control of the entire system is performed based on the TOMS/EP data. The basic results of observations of total ozone for each month of the first quarter of 2004 and for the quarter as a whole are summarized. Considered are both the results of regular observations of surface ozone concentration, which have been carried out by the CAO in the forest zone of Moscow since 1991 and which characterize the state of surface ozone in Central Russia, and the results of observations obtained by the Polar Geophysical Institute of the Kola Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (KRC RAS).
