DYNAMICS OF THE DENSITY CURRENT AND POLLUTANT TRANSPORT IN A MODEL WITH BOTTOM AND DRIFT FLOW INTERACTION

B. I. Samolyubov

The results of first comprehensive studies of flow structures and pollutant transport in the Ruza reservoir are considered. Distributions of velocity, temperature, and suspended sediment, dissolved salt, and dissolved oxygen concentrations are analyzed. A mathematical model of a bottom density current with wind-induced dynamics of the current and pollutant transport in a stable thermocline is described. Theoretical distributions of parameters of the current are verified against measurements in the Ruza, Ozerninskoe, Istra, and Ivankovo reservoirs.
