TENDENCIES OF LONG-TERM CHANGES IN SALT COMPOSITION IN THE DON RIVER DOWNSTREAM

A. M. Nikanorov, V. M. Ivanik, and E. I. Pirumova

Tendencies of long-term changes in mineralization and concentration of basic salt-forming macrocomponents in the Don River downstream are estimated using a linear trend method. Spatiotemporal inhomogeneity of changes in the water salt composition is found. The main causes of the salt pollution of the Don River are analyzed in brief. The directions and rates of change of the river water quality for a 50-year period are illustrated with charts and trend equations.
