WAVES IN COHESIVE MUDFLOWS

A mixture of a cohesive debris mudflow is considered as a quasi-continuum. Wave phenomena are treated within a one-dimensional problem. The long continuous and stepwise waves in the translational motion with both a variable and a constant discharge are studied. The instability of long waves in channels with a positive bottom inclination is analyzed.
