FEATURES OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON THE TERRITORY OF AZERBAIJAN IN WINTER SEASON

S. G. Safarov

Air temperature and precipitation variations in winter on the territory of Azer¬baijan within different time intervals are studied. The analysis of observations from 43 hydrometeorological stations has shown that in 1881—1997 there was an increase in air temperature, which was inhomogeneous in space. For a qualitative improvement of the results obtained, time series for 1958—1997 were also considered. The temperature tendency proved to be similar to the previous estimates. For the period 1971—1997, temperature increased considerably in the plains and foothills and less significantly in the coastal and mountainous areas. The precipitation change is shown to be random in character.
