CONNECTION OF OSCILLATIONS OF SOME OCEANOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS WITH VARIATIONS OF THE ANGULAR RATE OF EARTH'S ROTATION

O. R. Andrianova and R. R. Belevitch

A long-term comparison of seasonal variability of monthly mean variations of the angular rate of the Earth's rotation, sea surface temperature, and sea level at several coastal stations in the eastern equatorial Atlantic and Pacific regions, and in the eastern mid-Caspian is dealt with. Rather close connections between these characteristics (correlation coefficients 0.70—0.82) are found. The connections allow us to suppose that disturbances similar to Earth's rotation variations can be observed in the dynamic processes of the World Ocean and its large-scale flows, and also in the global atmospheric circulation.
