AUTOREGRESSION ESTIMATES OF THE RELATION BETWEEN SURFACE AIR TEMPERATURE FIELDS AND LARGE-SCALE ATMOSPHERIC CIRCULATION

The relation between atmospheric circulation features and the surface air temperature field is considered in the context of global climate change. One- and two-dimensional autoregression analysis is used to analyze observational time series. The time series of temperature and circulation patterns contain a statistically significant linear trend. The estimates of correlation and spectral characteristics give insight into some general features of variability of climatic parameters.
