TYPICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DYNAMICS AND STRUCTURE OF WATERS IN THE COASTAL ZONE OF THE BLACK SEA

V. B. Titov and O. I. Prokopov

Specific features of horizontal and vertical motion of waters and their hydrophysical structure in the coastal zone of the Black Sea are considered. The outer boundary of the coastal zone runs across an area of maximum horizontal gradients of water temperature, salinity, and density and the midstream of the Ring Counterclockwise Current (RCC). A distance of the outer boundary of this zone from the shore is about 20 miles.
