RADIAL PROFILE OF WIND SPEED IN THE OUTER ZONE OF A TROPICAL CYCLONE

Data are summarized on the behavior of wind speed in a tropical cyclone outside the radius of maximum wind. The previously derived empirical relations for the estimation of the rate of wind decrease in the outer zone of a tropical cyclone with the increase of the radius of maximum wind speed are corrected for various ranges of the analog of the Rossby number.
