AGROCLIMATIC ESTIMATE OF SOIL DROUGHTS IN EUROPEAN RUSSIA (FROM SURFACE DATA)

T. V. Khomyakova and E. K. Zoidze

The paper considers agroclimatic regularities of the distribution of soil droughts over European Russia which are generalized using the data from the scientific applied manual Arid Phenomena over the RF Territory. A generalized comparative estimate of aridity of winter and early-late summer grain crops has been first made using the number of ten-day periods with severe and very severe soil drought for the growing period. For the first time an attempt has been made to study a cause-effect relationship between probabilities of soil droughts by the onset of winter crop sowing and milky ripeness of winter and early summer grain crops and probabilities of air droughts for different periods of the growing cycle.
