HYDRODYNAMIC MODEL OF THE WIND FIELD IN A TYPHOON

E. M. Dobryshman

A hydrodynamic model of the wind field is constructed for different parts of the typhoon: the eye, a region of a sharp pressure rise, a region of a gradual fall of the pressure gradient, and a region of a strong influence of the Coriolis force. Some of the modeled features of the wind field in each of the regions are confirmed by observed data. A scheme is given of the location and movement of the vector of the ground-relative maximum wind in a typhoon moving on a classical track.
