NUMERICAL MODELING OF WIND AND WAVES IN A SECONDARY CYCLONE AT THE BLACK SEA

A little-studied physiographic phenomenon, nonordinary midlatitude storms, is being investigated. They storms are similar to tropical hurricanes in structure of the formative pressure systems and in consequences for the environment, even though they do not reach tropical hurricane strength. An interactive model of this phenomenon has been developed on the basis of a theoretical hydrodynamic model of narrow directional approximation of wind-wave spectrum. A computation of wind-waves in a storm over the Black Sea in November 1981 is carried out for illustration.
