SEASONAL VARIABILITY OF THERMOHALINE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ACTIVE LAYER IN THE PACIFIC KURIL BASIN

The seasonal variability of temperature and salinity fields of the active ocean layer is analyzed and basic water masses are identified on the basis of extensive long-term records in the Pacific Kuril Basin. The distribution and thermohaline characteristics of water masses are determined for different seasons.
