THE STRUCTURE AND CHARACTERISTICS OF THE KAMCHATKA CURRENT

Based on extensive actual data and numerical model results it is shown that the path of the Kamchatka Current and eddy formation in bays of the east coast of Kamchatka strongly depend on the distance at which the current flows around bends in the coastline, the direction of the midstream of the current, and the depth below it, while thermohaline structure depends on climatic conditions in the cold season.
