ESTIMATION OF RAINFALL CORRELATION FUNCTIONS FROM RADAR DATA

A procedure is proposed for constructing rainfall correlation functions from radar data. Analytical expressions are obtained for such functions from one-day (summer and winter), five-day, and ten-day rainfall. The expressions have an exponential or linear form. Rainfall correlation distances are proposed. The results can be used in numerical analysis of rainfall fields.
